Elena Montiel was born in Colombia, and moved to the United States in 1965. She studied at Brooklyn College, later graduating from Rowan University with a B.A. in Education. She has held positions as a Spanish teacher, health educator, tobacco prevention specialist, court interpreter, and translator. She has managed the office for Dr. Montiel since 2011.
